Tell us about your role and your greatest accomplishment at Lear.
I supervise the Navegantes engineering team. We are focused on new product changes, process changes, and continuous improvement – assuring smooth delivery of products with safety and quality values. I joined the Lear team during a critical time caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the microchip shortage. Our whole team embraced the challenges to return to production while keeping all of our coworkers and our business operating safely. The Navegantes plant has completely changed in terms of industrial layout. That was done to improve processes for E-Systems’ Wiring but also to accommodate the arrival of the Seating business. I’m very proud to work with great professionals and to be the first plant with both Seating and E-Systems in the same location.
Who has influenced you the most when it comes to how you approach your work?
In more than 20 years in the automotive business, many people have inspired me, but I would like to especially thank my father. He taught me to be a better person, to be prepared to help, to do something good for society, and to have purpose. That’s how I come to work every day, looking at how we can work together and how we can build a better future.
What is your favorite family tradition?
Dinner time is my favorite family tradition. We have dinner together every day, with no noise, no TV, no smartphones. It’s important to be connected as a family in a moment when we can be thankful, and truly listen and enjoy each other. Together, we share our day’s successes and failures. That’s when we celebrate, laugh, cheer and even encourage each other to stand fast. These moments are so precious to us, and it’s how we grow as a family.
