Director of Supplier Diversity Southfield, Michigan, USA
Aug. 2023
Tell us about your time at Lear. For example, when did you join the company? What interested you in Lear? What is your current job?
I joined Lear in 2021. I was interested in Lear because of their leadership and record of success in supplier diversity. As the director of supplier diversity, I work with my colleagues in purchasing to develop and implement sourcing strategies that emphasize the inclusion of diverse suppliers.
What is something you are hoping to accomplish?
My priorities cover the areas of performance, strategy, process and outreach. We are working to increase our spend with diverse non-production suppliers, analyzing our supplier database, providing upstream support to our purchasing teams, implementing a dashboard, completing our supplier diversity strategic plan and continuing to strengthen our partnerships with ERGs within Lear as well as external advocacy groups.
[Black History Month is] a time to consider our rich culture and heritage and all that we have grown through. It also is a time to remember that there is still work to be done."

What are some of your interests outside of work?
When I am not working, I have several hobbies that occupy my time. I love to run. I currently get in 4.5 miles (7.2 km) per day, Monday through Friday. I love to travel, especially on cruises. I am also a musician. I play trumpet in a band that I started while in college. We play mostly jazz with some R&B. We have been doing an annual reunion gig over the past two years, and reuniting has been such a great time.
