Production Planning Supervisor Lapu-Lapu, Philippines
Tell us about your role at Lear.
I am the production planning supervisor for Lear’s programs with Ford, GM and Renault. As a leader, I emphasize the importance of staying focused on goals and encourage my team to find the silver lining in any situation.
What is your proudest moment at Lear?
After the devastation caused by Super Typhoon “Odette,” I was honored to be named one of the “Heroes of Lear.” Looking back, the total destruction of one of our buildings was devastating. During that time, the program was about to end and with the havoc caused by the typhoon, it was nearly impossible to meet the customer’s deadlines and requirements. With the help of the whole team, we were able to make deliveries without any customer downtime. Together, we poured our hearts into the successful completion of the customer program. I’m glad to say that we were able to pull it off.
If you could pick a new skill in an instant, what would it be and why?
If I had to choose an instant skill, it would be the art of “anticipating the future” so that I could prepare for upcoming problems and prevent unfortunate results. My greatest dream is to be able to master accurate planning. I believe if I can anticipate and prevent impending threats, we will be better equipped to protect ourselves, our work, and our customers. I am certain that it is not something we can master overnight. I am pretty sure there are no shortcuts to mastery.
