Lear UK Helps Education and the Environment
Lear UK Sunderland team members volunteered to rebuild an old campfire site in the woods for an educational center for local community group use. This would enhance the educational experience for local schools, adults and families and create a safe environment allowing learning through recreation in a welcoming wooded area suited to host such activities.
Team members Jamie Hughes, Dennis Baxter, Carl Parkinson, Chris Booth, Beth West, Lyndsay Cuniff and Natasha McGee helped clear the old campfire area in preparation and carried in willow trees to be stripped in preparation to weave a wall around the site.
They raked out old bark and brought in new bark supplies to carpet the area. The team dug out old, rotten tree stumps previously used for seating and collected suitable ones for the new seating areas and to be used as tables.
The Lear Sunderland Just-in-Time (JIT) and foam plants have more than 600 team members and support JIT customers Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover.
