Eagle Ottawa Thailand Wins Labor Management Excellence and Kaizen Awards for 2018
On August 23rd, 2018, in Bangkok, Eagle Ottawa (EO) Thailand received the Thailand Labor Management Excellence Award 2018, a result of its earning the 1st Outstanding on Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and the 2nd Outstanding on Employee Relation and Engagement Certificate.
EO Thailand has implemented many Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) activities and programs that comply with Thai governmental requirements. Led by Nuttaphong Chaowanothai (Plant Mgr.), team members have demonstrated a high standard of plant safety management, certififed in June 2018 when auditors from the Ministry of Labor of Thailand performed an onsite audit of all processes at the shop floor level and the overall management system and announced that the plant passed all criteria.
Also in Bangkok, on August 31st EO Thailand received two additional awards, the "Silver Award in Karakuri Kaizen" and the "Popular Vote" for project presentation at the 2018 Thailand Kaizen Awards, which recognize a company's continuing efforts to enhance performance and efficiency while reducing cost and waste.
EO Thailand joined more than 130 organizations that entered almost 400 projects in seven categories for the event's 14th annual competition. The rigorous evaluation process included the submission of Kaizen project details; project presentation to four committees; onsite Gemba audit by the committees; a final presentation and a three-day booth exhibition, after which EO Thailand was named a recipient of these two prestigious awards.
The Thailand Kaizen Awards are organized by the Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) (TPA) to recognize the achievements in continuous improvement in Thailand's industrial businesses.
These awards add to recent EO Thailand accomplishments from last year, including the Thailand Ministry of Labor's Silver Level Award of Zero Accident Campaign 2017 and TPA's national-level 5S Model Award. Located in Rayong about 220 km (135 miles) from Bangkok, EO Thailand began operations in 2010 and now employs approximately 650 team members who serve customers such as Toyota, Honda, Ford, Nissan, Subaru, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and more.
