Lear Germany’s Gustavsburg Engineering Team Wins Innovation Award

On July 6, 2018, in Dusseldorf, Germany, the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE) Europe announced Lear Corporation as the winner of its Grand Innovation Award for Automotive Parts and Components. The new Opel Insignia GSI seat's plastic function carrier and plastic cushion pan were nominated as an innovation for cascade injection-molded seat shells that combined polyamide (PA) thermoplastic nylon with Long Glass Fiber (LGF), realizing best comfort and safety results. The Insignia GSI is a sport vehicle sold in Europe, China, Australia and North America.

EMS Chemie Switzerland's Siegbert Gabriel (Key Account Mgr. – Automotive) presented the award to Lear Germany's Gustavsburg engineering team. EMS is a global supplier of high-performance polymers and resin for plastic components and strongly supports the sector's development with international resources in China, Germany and France.
