Environment Brazil team organize and promote a Community Service Action in Leon Feffer Park, São Paulo
Lear Brazil’s Human Resources Department in São Paulo organized and promoted a Volunteer Community Service Action to clean up and beautify Leon Feffer Park, adjacent to Lear’s South American headquarters. More than 50 volunteers and family members spent the day performing maintenance such as raking, sweeping, pruning shrubs and preparing the soil for the 600 seedlings the team brought to the park to plant.
Meg Aggio (Commercial Sales Supervisor) said, “Volunteering together meant teamwork, diversity and community service, of course, but I thought what really came through was ‘commitment’. We saw it as our responsibility to the environment and city, from everyone no matter their age or position. So I felt this giving back was very educational, beyond cleaning up a park. It also serves as a great example to our children and they as well as their parents are already looking forward to the next ‘Lear in the Park’.”
“I was happy to do something important for the environment and could see other team members who were enjoying themselves as they contributed,” added Adilson Pereira (Financial Analyst). “What made me extremely happy was the participation of family members – I believe this increased participation since people could bring spouses and children along. It was truly an unforgettable morning for special moments and I have a photo already in my living room of all my children together, holding a seedling to plant.”
Gisele deSousa (South America HR Mgr.) expressed gratitude to the efforts and dedication of all participants for a fun and fulfilling event, even noting the thanks by many residents who were able to witness the action being performed.
