The SmartFold™ electronic release system is a low-effort automatic release mechanism for folding seat systems, powered by Lear’s unique SmartFold™ Actuator stored energy device. The SmartFold™ release button can be located on the seat or in the side trim, door, trunk or lift-gate.
Remote Release 2nd Row Easy Entry™
Lear’s Remote Release 2nd Row Easy Entry™ is an industry-first. By pushing a button, the second-row seats automatically fold up allowing easier accessibility to third-row seats.
Product Benefits:
- Actuation of a remote switch allows easy access into the 3rd row seating area
- The two-stage actuation system first folds the seatback flat and then releases the seat floor latches and tumbles the seat forward. The seat is returned to design position manually
Program Highlights:
- Mechanical interlocks only allow the seat to be placed in design positions, for safe operation
- Manual operation is always available
