Consumer Market Research

This group delivers insight on consumers’ desires, competitive performance, and industry trends, providing Lear design, engineering and sales teams with new product opportunities that align with the expectations and unmet needs of consumers and our OEM customers. Its capabilities include program support and product research, segment dashboards, value mapping, and market-opportunity reports.

Benchmarking

This group is devoted to providing Lear advanced sales, design and engineering with the necessary data to make informed decisions for competitive product innovations and improved customer satisfaction. It supports Lear on a global basis with feature comparison, interior teardown, and competitive analysis for the development of best-in-class products.

Craftsmanship

This group provides the tools and guidance to improve products by defining the appearance and perceived quality attributes consumers want in their vehicles’ interiors. Its capabilities include competitive interior quality assessments, craftsmanship guidelines, visual quality audits, and recommendations. From preaward, to postaward through launch, this team strives to communicate the best-in-class goals appropriate for the development program, working with the OEM styling team to implement changes necessary to enable competitive success and consumers’ satisfaction.

Advanced Product Design

Great products begin with great ideas. This group works with advanced engineering to further enhance Lear’s portfolio of unique product solutions that meet automakers' desire for innovative, cost-effective, and consumer-driven products. Utilizing data from consumer market research, benchmarking and the principals of craftsmanship, the designers in this group envision, visualize, and conceptualize product innovations from paper to prototype.

Concept Development Studio

This group is committed to providing the physical working prototypes that represent well-crafted, advanced product solutions for Lear’s sales efforts. From the management and execution of 3D properties to the display and communication of product innovation and benefits, this team of skilled craftsman brings to reality the concepts and goals of the advanced product and marketing teams.

Visual Communications

As a global leader in interior product solutions, Lear strives to communicate a concise and consistent message to our customers. The efforts of the visual communications team provide product display and marketing material that is interactive and informative, allowing our sales teams to engage the OEM customer in the possibilities that our innovations have to offer.
